COVID-19 Business Support Grants for lockdown-impacted businesses in Queensland

A $5,000 support payment has been announced by the Queensland Government for those businesses affected by lockdowns enforced on 31 July in the SE Queensland region. 

Eligibility

Employing small and medium businesses across Queensland are eligible to apply that have been impacted by the South East Queensland lockdown that commenced on 31 July 2021. If your business has experienced at least a 30% reduction in turnover because of the lockdowns you can apply even if your business isn’t located in South East Queensland. For large businesses in either hospitality or the tourism sector grants are also available for those operating in the 11 local government areas in the lockdown. Small and medium businesses are defined as having:

  • a turnover of more than $75,000 per annum
  • an annual payroll in Queensland of up to $10 million.

Local government areas subject to lockdown restrictions are:

  • Brisbane City Council
  • Gold Coast City Council
  • Ipswich City Council
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Logan City Council
  • Moreton Bay Regional Council
  • Noosa Shire Council
  • Redland City Council
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

Businesses will need to apply online with supporting evidence and will be paid the gran funds within 2 weeks of being notified that your application has been approved.
