New Xero Reporting Features Are A Lot Of Fun

Xero has been ramping up the technology that underpins the Xero software. Most recently, they have been updating their reporting features.

At present, you can still run the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ versions. However, Xero has stated that as of 31 July 2023, they will be retiring the ‘old’ reports. Here is what you can expect according to Xero:

  • A beautiful report centre where you can search or scroll to find new reports and add them to your favourites.
  • An extensive range of reports and common layouts to help you get quick access to answers when you need them most.
  • Standardised formats and intuitive menus so you can explore different ways of looking at your data in just a few clicks.
  • Powerful customisation tools help you tailor your reports’ content and layout to your unique needs.
  • The ability to add, hide or reorder columns, group or sort data in different ways, and use filtering options to find what you’re looking for.
  • Features to help you streamline your financial analysis within Xero, including formulas, schedules, switch rules, notes and more.

Some more in depth highlights will include:

  • Executive Summary reporting that has more flexible date ranges, more comparative periods and the ability to add commentary text.
  • Enhancements to our aged reports. You’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to display the period number (e.g. 1 month) or the date range (e.g. April 2022) and see the percentage of the total for each ageing period.
  • Report annotations can be used with footers, text blocks and schedules to add commentary and life to the numbers.

If you don’t have your head around these new reports, you still have time. But it is highly recommended you start changing over soon!
